| Post subject: | Spark Plug Seals (washers) yes or no? |
Hey, all! I had to put a different L6 in my '76 Duster ... I am told it is a 1963. I read that between '63 and '74 you are NOT supposed to use the washers on your spark plugs ... is there a definitive way to know FOR CERTAIN whether or not I need these washers? Please PM. Thanks! |

Asked in public, answered in public: Do not use the metal ring washer gaskets on spark plugs in any '63-'74 model year cylinder head. Use them only in '60-'62 heads. See here. Also, tune-up parts and technique suggestions (including spark plugs) are in this thread. |
