This weekend I saw a '91 D150 with a cracked frame just behind the upper control arm on the passenger side. The truck was not rusty nor had it been in a collision. Is frame cracking a common problem? The truck had a V6, probably not much weight on the front end. |

Only ones I ever heard of having issues were the early Cummins powered trucks. |

Ive broken a frame on a D100 by jumping it off road. But it was further back from the A-arm near the Z-bar. Maybe something like this happened? |

The frame on my old '72 D100 cracked at the steering box. This was a problem on the older trucks .i.e. '72 on. |

I grew up in PA where rust is king and cracks were common. My Dad's '69 ford pickup frame had more welding rods in it than original metal... brian |
