Thinking of putting on the 2 barrel manifold and maybe just putting on a larger headpipe and muffler and tailpipe and doing nothing else but a good tuneup. The compression test showed a 13% variance over the cyl's. I have the nkg plugs, igniter, new coil & plug wires and will adjust valves. Does sound like a good plan - it's a 1964 225 with automatic trans. New to the game so any points to prior posts or ideas appreciated. If I screwed up somewhere expect it - If you like to point it out please do so - if you like to help please do so also. Thanks |

The engine is in a 1964 valiant station wagon - the intake with exhaust manifold was not in a car and he did not know what car it came off of - came with two one-barrel & three two barrel carbs. I was going to put on the 2 barrel manifold and use a new Holley 2 barrel carb I already had and just put a larger headpipe, muffler & tailpipe. Maybe get 15 addtl hp? Thanks Ernie |

The pre-'67 cars like yours have a rod-type throttle linkage, which means to switch to a 2bbl you either need to convert to a cable-type accelerator pedal or do the parallel 2bbl setup. Photo documentation of a very well done such conversion is here. |
