specs of my turbo slant setup all in my 1970 VF valiant hardtop stock slant, it is a reconditioned changeover motor that was certainly done well before my ownership, seems relatively healthy enough -Megasquirt 2 ecu running extra code, and recently have bluetooth to serial and the 10hz bluetooth gps, all working flawlessly. -in tank fuel pump, modified stock tank, using stock parts from a ute -3/8" alloy fuel line from back to front with bulkheads each end -corvette filter/regulator combo, fixed base pressure of 57psi -modified my cast intake manifold and made a fuel rail etc -630cc siemens dekka injectors (way too big for my goals but i had them already) and they seem to be working out fine so far (63lb) -EF falcon throttlebody, (takes a 3" silicone on front, unsure of actual throttle blade size -techedge 2E0 wideband - 36-1 trigger wheel and ford VR pickup, - 6x LS2 coils in waste spark, spark A/B/C in MS - RX7 series 5 turbo, Hitatchi HT18S-2S on a J pipe wheel sizes are turbine, 63.5mm exducer 54.6mm inducer compressor 63mm exducer 43.5mm inducer and a really terrible flange for the dump pipe, and a turbine housing flange that doesnt match anything else either, -3 inch air filter mounted down close to frontal air stream on the lower apron - full 2.5" exhaust with 1x straight through muffler so far im up a bit over 6psi and going well, around 14deg total timing, probably covered 300km with the setup now, driving to and from work, and tuning runs/test runs etc i'll attach a heap of pictures as i sort through them so far it comes on pretty easy, not really far over 2000 before it crosses zero vac, and all in before 3000 pending throttle application |

i need to go and pick one up off a mate in town. Are you going to be at Chryslers On The Murray? I would like to check this out The plan was to use water injection and just stay no cooler, but the no maintenance way forward seems to involve a cooler, just didnt want to make too many extra holes in the car. been meaning to make it to COTM for a while, unlikely at this stage that i'll make it this year, but i'll keep it in the back of my mind if things change and slap it in the calendar as a maybe, its only about 350km from here. (im in canberra) |

Realised I need to get some plugs, still running the BPR5ES, need to grab some 7s I re gapped them while I had them out anyway, they were 0.048/1.2mm I knocked them back to 0.030 based on some searches on the LS forums on boost and gaps due to the LS coils I'm running. I found some 0.060 spring shims and got keen, so I also shimmed all the intake springs up and replaced all the worn out valve stem seals, found that the exhaust valve on number 6 is burnt out/not holding air, managed to get the shim under the intake valve but could not change the seal on Exh valve, no amount of tapping or twisting would sort it so I've just left it for now. Test drive shows great results, makes power over 4000 now, miss seems to be gone but ill keep an eye on that. |

The burnt exhaust valve turned out to be very oval, 20psi comp in that cylinder Have since done a tear down of a spare motor and pulled the current motor for a swap, fresh rings valve and seat grind, baffle the sump and get to business again, should improve things |

have had a bit going on with this, biggest pain in the ass was that it turns out early and late model slant cranks have a difference size pilot/spigot hole on the gearbox end, and as such, nothing i had would bolt to the motor, had to do a last minute crank swap, luckily the crank from the other motor was in good order still, and was the same bearing size. going well so far, dreaded number 6 stud is being a little bit of a pain, but i'll get back to it, drilled and tapped out the orig temp sensor hole to 3/8 NPT for the GM water temp sensor that i'd been using in a T piece in the heater hose, and moved the gauge sender down underneath the same area, also fitted the intercooler and plumbed it up, which i just finished yesterday. will sort out and post some pics |

I like your intercooler solution, but you are going to show it some respect by getting that engine fan in a nice cowl, right? |

finally got it on a quick dyno power run with no tuning time available made 139kw / 187hp to the wheels on 9psi (8-9psi) peaking fairly early, and AFR's dipping into the 10's, and its still going great still a complete stock bottom end, fresh rings, stock cam, shimmed stock springs etc, |

Sounds like good progress. I would think with some tuning you should make well over 200 RWHP at 9 psi. Cheers, Lou |

Looking good! Do you have picture how you mounted LS coils? Or trigger wheel? |

Hopefully so Lou, i really need to build the A-904 up for it, it still has a crappy BW35 auto that is on borrowed time, it was pretty well the main reason i had not yet done any dyno time at all, this has now got me keen to lean on it some more, not even up to 40% duty on the 60lb injectors yet
Cheers, Lou |
