Sounds like it's time to swap in a late model set of disc brakes and "large bolt pattern" rear axle... as upgrades...or trade out the wheels for the more common 5 on 4.5" lug pattern... |

my wheel adapters .com has these in the size that you are specifying. you want to go from 5X4" to 5x4.5" correct? They also come in varying widths that you can specify. There's some debate about the use of these. If you find a good deal the advise to upgrade to the 4.5" LBP front brakes and LBP rear axle might make sense when you consider the cost of the adapters. But its for you to decide what route to take. I personally purchased a set last Fall for my '74 Duster. My Duster already has the 4.5" BP but I wanted to space the rear wheels out a bit so that the tires were not so close to the leaf springs. My cost with shipping was about $100 for a pair. Mine were technically referred to as spacers because I didn't change the Bolt Pattern size. Yours would be called adapters since you would be changing the Bolt pattern size. |

WARNING!!! If you go the adapter route, make damn sure you use billet adapters, not cast aluminum. It's better to keep the wheels mounted. Roger |
