Does anyone know off hand if you can install a larger rear view mirror on my 85 truck? And do you have a good donor. I would like a little bit larger field of view if there is something that would fit without to much trouble. Rick |

Been there, done that. Second generation Caravan from a junkyard offers a wider field of vision, about 5 bucks. Use a sharpened putty knife to carefully scrape the button off the junkyard windshield. Napa sells some strong glue to install it in your truck. |

You can also buy ridiculously huge convex mirrors that slip over the factory mirror. I.E. http://www.autobarn.net/cliponpanrea.html http://www.amazon.com/Fit-System-RM011- ... B001A0J2JO |

That's what I did on my 87 Ram. I like it. I didn't know about the Caravan mirrors. I'll have to look for one.

I didn't specifically look for a Caravan. It was just handy. It was either that or one from a Honda Accord, but the Honda had lights and wires and I didn't want to fool with that.I agree, those stock truck mirrors are not up to the task. |

I would like to have a permanent one I think? But I did not know if any of the larger/newer ones would fit on the existing mounting tab. I just had the windshield installed and don't want to remove tab if I don't have to. Rick |

The slip on mirrors clamp onto the existing stock rear view mirror. |
