Post subject:  Sizing of Proper Jets for Carter Carb on my 225 Slant Six

Currently, I have a Carter 1bbl carb that needs it's jets changed to accomodate a slant six 225. The jet's that are currently in the carb are to large and emitting too much fuel into the intake. Does anyone know what size of jet's and/or any other input I need to make this conversion ? Is their a part number or what ? Thanks very much for anyones help !

I could provide you with one, currently installed but am no longer using the carb. Don't know of a source for a Carter BBD jet. Need any other BBD parts leave me a pm with your needs. Have about 15 I use as part sources.

Weimar, it's unusual for a Carter BBS originally meant for use on a \6 to need rejetting. If your carb is running rich, it's probably due to a problem, rather than an incorrect jet. Broken step-up piston spring, stuck step-up piston, broken step-up rod, missing step-up cylinder gasket...

Most of these carbs come with a 2-263 main jet. One step lean is a 2-267.

Post subject:  Confusion about type of Carburator Used

I'm not sure who said I am using a BBS type carburator; but in my orginal message I stated that I am using a BBD. Also, my engine was recently "completly" overhauled. Their is no question about too much wet fuel in the intake area. When removing the carb, I and the mechanic noticed that their was too much fuel. My father in law my have taken these carbs off a V-8; but I'm not sure about that.

I just recently rebuilt my first Carter BBD..... it is a 2bbl.

BBS or BBD....my guess is that the carb has a leaking needle valve which is allowing excess fuel into the intake.
It could also be a loose floorjet or other loose parts. Loose parts will allow excess fuel to flow through.
