Post subject: | 4 barrel manifold to a 2 barrel carb |
Howdy gents, I hopfully have a quick question. I have the 225 slant 6, with an offenhauser 4 barrel intake. It had a very large 750 CFM carb on it which was way to big and I removed it and found a 2 barrel Rochester 2 jet that I would like to put on. My question is where can I find an adapter going from a 4 barrel to a 2 barrel. if they even make them. This is my last issue before I get the girl on the road. Any help would be awesome. Thanks in advance |

There is no direct adapter for this. Adapters are not hard to make. A chunk of 3/8" piece of aluminum, a drill press, some drill bits, a 1 1/4" hole saw, a 5/16 tap, a tape measure and about 30 minutes of your time. |

I do not know about the offenhauser intake but there is this clifford adapter. http://www.shop.cliffordperformance.net ... -1013A.htm I think all the 4bbl have the same bolt pattern but you might want to check if your 2bbl carb is the same bolt pattern for this adapter. |

There should be hundreds of adapters available. The 4v carb to 2v intake can be flipped over and used as a 2v carb to 4v intake adapter. For example: http://www.2daydeliver.com/product_deta ... uK77Y3Sky4 |

Yep, you will have to seal and bolt it to the existing offy plate on the manifold...and may have to cut out the center of the offy plate to get the flow right....Typically this style of adaptor is for 4 barrel Holley to 2 barrel Holly, so you might need another to get Rochester to Holley... The other more direct and as easy route is to get a piece of 3/8" aluminum plate from a scrap yard, pattern the offy plate and the rochester like Kesteb had commented on... |

The hardest part of making your own adapter is sourcing the metal. It took me exactly one evening and 2 beverages to go from Carter BBD to Motorcraft 2100, and yours should be even simpler since you won't be grinding cast iron like I had to do. Plus the one you make will be higher quality than the cast in China store bought variety. As said above, band saw (or careful use of a hack saw), drill press, done. |

+1 I bought a block of phenolic off eBay and made my own. I'm much happier with it than I would have been with any of the 'off the shelf' adapters. ![]() |

Just curious, why not just go to smaller com 4 barrel? Another option. |
