Looking for correct part numbers for 63 170 , distributor cap and rotor. The ones I have are tan in color. The ones I ordered do not fit, the cap is not deep enough and the rotor is will not fit on the shaft. |

Let's work back the other way: please tell what (exact, specific) cap and rotor you ordered and (if different) were sent, that won't fit. That way we can tell if you ordered the wrong parts, ordered the right parts but were sent the wrong ones, or what. One possibility is that you have a Canadian distributor (stranger things have happened to cars on the road since 1963), which takes a different kind of rotor and/or cap. |

That cap and that rotor are for very early-production Canadian cars only, and won't fit the American-production distributor. If you're buying Standard brand, you need a Standard CH-410 cap and CH-303 rotor, but you might try for an Airtex/Wells 3D1069A premium-quality cap and rotor set. Under $12 at RockAuto. |

Ok thanks appreciate the help. Is there a thread That discusses the manifold heat control valve. The thermostatic coil spring is broken on mine. |
