As far as drag racing goes....
Is the Aussie Long Ram a better manifold than say a Clifford or Offenhauser (4 barrel) intake? I figure any of them will cost a pretty penny so I would rather invest in a race manifold just the one time.

The best race manifold would be the Clifford.

Again what is the application.
Will is running a turbo on a fabricated intake, short runner.
Seymour is running Webers on a short intake.
Others are running Offy's and Clifford's with good results.
Just saying...

Normally aspirated drag motor. The Aussie manifold looks a little much but this is my first race slant (not my first race engine). I am seriously considering the Clifford intake but was just wondering if one of the other manifolds might be a better choice.

The Clifford will make power well above 6500 rpm. The long runner intakes suck wind around 5500ish.

There has been a lot of testing and feedback on the Aussiespeed intakes on here. You can do a search and find what the consensus is. Clifford seems to be the better choice every time.

It really is going to be based on your build and the rpm band you will be working with. Ultimately it's not how fast it goes, it whether it gets you a consistent time... you only worry about ultimate performance if you are pushing the envelope...

Clifford shorty and headers is the weapon of choice for most racers...since it breathes at all RPM ranges.

Long ram manifolds are tuned for a specific rpm band and are not for the beginner... I run one because I am running a heavy car and am working within the fat torque curve provided at the ram tuned rpm of the hyperpak... The only one that will breathe like a Clifford Shorty would be a Dutra Fat Pak, but that's a very rare bird. I know a one racer that was running the Aussie just for fun and I haven't seen a performance increase compared to the previous configuration.

There's a new Aussie short ram, large cross section intake coming. Should give the Clifford a run for it's money.

clifford now has a duo weber manifold that might be worth looking at.

I've got a Flying Toilet setup I'd sell for just a hair more than that. :?

Im not saying its cheap but it dose come with 1 manifold, 2 carbs, 2 air filters, a fuel regulator, and all the linkage. I do think it should be around $900 but its not my business.

$300 more and you could have a 3 Weber DCOE setup.

2 synchronous opening 2 bbl carbs on a plenum manifold is a bad idea. It would be similar in function to having a 4 bbl with all 4 throttles opening at once, but without the 4 bbl's built-in synchronization. I would fully expect trouble transitioning to the main circuit in a heavy vehicle or one with a low stall torque converter. 2 progressive opening 2 bbl carbs properly synchronized would act like a split 4 bbl and could show improved mixture distribution. For a full-tilt drag combo a pair of 38/38 Webers will likely work no better than a single 4 bbl or a pair of Holley 2 bbls. For an off-the-shelf manifold available now I would buy the Clifford WH4500.

It is hard to beat the Clifford like Guzzi and many other successful racers use but it is interesting to note that the length of the intake tubes on Mark Goodman's Lancer are about the same as a Hyper Pak.

Agreed! Even if the shorter runner Aussiespeed intake was as good or equal to the Clifford, it still is $200-$300 more expensive than a new Clifford sells for. It would have to be light years better in performance to justify the extra cost for most people.
