You might try calling NOS parts dealers such as old car parts northwest or Arizona parts and asking for the following part numbers:

Kool! I will check that out. I might have to buy that whole unit.
How much of a difference does it make if that unit isn't working? Cause it's hard to tell on mine.

It can make quite a big difference. The intake manifold must reach and maintain a high operating temperature to assist with eliminating fuel puddling in the intake manifold, especially in colder climate. At the same time, if the flapper gets stuck open it can overheat the intake and cause other problems.

Di you know at what temperature it goes from normal operating to over heating?

When is the flapper closed? Turned all the way clockwise or counter clockwise?

Post subject:  open vs closed

As I recall, the flapper is positioned to let about equal amounts of exhaust gas out and also hitting the underside of the intake manifold, as it heats up it turns clockwise to direct the flow almost entirely to the exhaust pipe, but the downstream end of the flapper still leaves some gap for gas to get to the intake. I measured my intake after warming up one time, I believe it was about 250 F at the runners.
