done a bunch of searching found tons of posts that make reference to the difference in size from early to later slants. none of them said the actual size of the registers. im going from a 76 slant to a 65. i have a couple flywheels trying to figure out which one is the right one. my car originally came with a 170. when i blew that up i pulled it and cant remember if i had the flywheel cut out or bought one for the later motor i used to replace it. in my flywheel selection i also have some fords in there. they are all about the same size so im looking for the measurement on the inside of the flywheel, where it would sit on the crank register.
