OK, how about some pictures of your modified slant six oil pans. I am getting ready to do some mods. Just looking for ideas. |

Here are a bunch of pics of the last 2 I made. https://www.flickr.com/photos/16910097@ ... 6194152763 These are designed for road course/autoX, but do very well on the strip too. Drag is pretty easy. Mainly you need an accel baffle at the back. More capacity is good, of course, so the 1 qt kickout (order speedwaymotors.com PN 91015119) and maybe a 0.8-1" drop will help with all around oil control. Later pics on the flickr site are a Volare pan with 0.8" drop and kickout and baffles. Make sure to lower the pickup too w/NPT pieces. I weld those at least part way to make sure they don't come apart. I spend more time on my oilpan than any other part of my engine. Lou |

I am actually looking at the speedway kit, 917-15900. It's a weld on sump kit. I am also thinking of adding an inch or so to the pan depth. I specifically want a drag race pan so I guess we'll see how it goes. |

I bought one of those sump kits too, but I thought the stock pan profile with kickout was easier to make and ensure that it would fit my chassis. 0.8" drop + the speedway kickout is around 2 qts added capacity. Lou |

nice pan design lou, for drag racing I wouldn`t forget a deceleration baffle also to help oil stay at the pickup at big end. |
