This is a 1975 a/c /6 in a 1963 Dart. |

I know you asked about emissions systems, but.....I would install the charcoal cannister from the 75 vehicle into your 63 Dart, eliminate the EGR vacuum amplification system (but leave the electronic choke thermostat assist in place and functioning), replace the plastic fuel filter with a metal one, upgrade to the dual field alternator charging system and electronic ignition system from the 1975 vehicle, upgrade to the disc brakes and rear axle from the 1975 A body vehicle, install the AC system from the 75 vehicle (including the radiator and fan shroud if equipped) and get the heated air intake and cool air intake systems functioning. |

Dan; Do you live in an emissions state, and is your car subject to inspections and/or testing? Roger |

Its a 63. The only original emisions equipment he would be required to have is the PCV valve. |

This post from 13 years ago will help with identifying some of the components. Keep the PCV valve. Have the distributor vacuum advance hose run directly from the correct carburetor port to the distributor. Keep the thermostatic air cleaner (and install the flex duct that connects the snorkel to the heat stove). Delete the "hockey puck" (EGR vacuum amplifier) located between the air cleaner and the valve cover, and everything connected to it. Leave the EGR valve in place but unconnected to anything (you can get a blockoff plate for it for a cleaner look). Clean up the pump-to-carb fuel line and poor fuel filter placement by doing the Fuel line mod and use a metal fuel filter. Replace the choke thermostat with a № 1234 Electric choke kit which not only is adjustable (the one on there now isn't) but also doesn't require the choke heater controller that's apparently missing from your setup, without which the present choke thermostat will waste your gasoline and cause running problems. Air cleaner's installed so can't see if your carburetor has an external bowl vent or not; pic with air cleaner removed will gain more advice. |
