I don't need to do combat with my exhaust, it does just fine by itself, thank you for asking though!

My fear is that each side of a duel exhaust may kill each
other, cancelling ea. other out, thus creating a large dead spot in the
power curve.

He was making fun of the use of duel when the author meant dual. Dual exhaust is alright, but properly executed single exhaust makes just as much power (loses just as little actually), weighs less and costs less. I prefer the sound of single exhaust.

Not only does a properly scienced single exhaust make just as much power as a dual exhaust on an inline engine, it drones a lot less. If you've ever taken a long trip with a droning straight six, you'll appreciate this a whole lot!

As was I(re-read). Some desire dual pipes for aesthetics sake,
even tho' time & again a properly executed single out-performs them. But
to each his own, as long as it makes them happy

I agree... I do things to My Car because I want to...
Besides... it is My Car.

As for the performance benefits of dual exhaust, you can see some higher RPM flow improvements, when splitting the firing order and / creating some scavenging... but those improvements are more related to the exhaust manifold(s) / headers used, rather then the pipes under the car.
Just my 2 cents...

???...I thought We were having fun, teasing you about the word duel for
instance, and I don't recall any calls to the pipe police to insist you remove
your duals or else.. :P
A little talk about relative performance wasn't intended to come off as so
"serious", and in reality, a X/H pipe in a dual system basically accomplishes
what the other offers anyway. I am calm, and I am glad your stoked about
your new pipes, if we could see them please..? :)

And what did you choose for a muffler? Inquiring minds would like to know....

I went with the true dual route, with thrush welded mufflers (flowcrapper 40 knockoff) and I didn't care for the resonation or the tinny sound. I'm tempted to give Borla a shot, and maybe a crossover of some sort, most likely an h-pipe.

I had duals after Dutra's long time ago. Exhaust came out front of left rear wheel. Loud setup. Now I have y-pipe located to rear of A-904, one muffler before rear axle and a small resonator before outlet. I am satisfied and the car have at least the same horsepower than before. Six in line sounds better with single pipe at all rpm.

You have a nice clean Holley 1920 there but it is the limiting device of high rpms and horsepower numbers.
