What is the determining factor if you need (want) 1.5 or 1.6 ratio rockers?

Thanks,

Mr. Zilla,

I am seriously looking at the roller tip rockers the Cox bros. have. I am not sure which ratio, or does it make a differnce?

Those rockers are good for a drag race motor, but I had a set I tried to run on the street and they did not oil the valve stems enough.

Yes, no oil to the valve tips is trouble.
I put a spray bar into my valvecover to keep the roller tips oiled on my race engine.

Truth is that the factory rocker arms are good for most performance Slants so spend your money somewhere else.

Doc,
Thanks for the sage advice on the rollers, I will take it.

That valve cover brings back bad memories of Y-block F**ds, if you ever had one ya know what I mean, overhead oilers or no oil, it didn't matter they were better off fried.

I blueprinted about 3 sets of stock rockers, and found that the ratio varied from 1:1.45 to 1:1.57. That means that for a little time you can find a matched set of any ratio you want. Just use a pair of dial gauges and to measure both ends as they rotate on a spare shaft. It doesn't have to be fancy, just stable as you measure.

I have drilled & tapped the boss at the end of the main oil galley, I run a hardline up from there.

I have also used brass "T" fittlings at the oil pump, where the sending unit goes.
Again I run a hardline up to the valvecover and screw the sender into the other leg of the fitting.
