| Post subject: | Decoding engine ID |
Hi, I bought an engine tonite off a guy for 30 bucks, and he included the engine stand it was on! Im trying to decode the block numbers. It was supposed to be a 225 but it looks like a 198! The numbers stamped on the block are HW198 3875. Any help would be appreciatted. |

Thanks, I also found out it is a BH block with a forged crank. I really bought it for the head. I was going to sell off the shortblock but now I gotta decide if Im going turbo or maybe a long rod engine.... |

About $200 give or take. New 7" 4340 material Molnar rods, bushed with ARP 2000 rod bolts goes for just under $500 currently at Campbell Enterprises. |

thanks for the reply, They will probably go up for sale then. The block sold or keep for mockup and or future build.(possibly a 198 turbo build)... |
