I've got the 64 slant in the 67 Dart timing is dead center on the tab starts good runs good yet when I shut it off I still get detonation any ideas I'm running a 2 barrel with a Carter BBD motor was rebuilt prior to me getting it so I'm not sure if the cam that's in it any help is greatly appreciated |

Maybe pinging is the wrong word, it wants to run a bit when I shut it off. Timing might be off as I don't know what kind of cam was put in. Runs strong and no noise while driving. I was thinking maybe low octane? Only issue is when I shut down. |

It's call run-on or dieseling. Real common with retarded timing and a hot engine. |
