I want to fit a 2 speed wiper motor to my 1961 Valiant. It currently has the standard single speed wiper motor and wiper switch.

How would I wire this up?

I am thinking of removing the single speed wiper motor and wiper switch and then using a 2 speed wiper motor and wiper switch from a later model Valiant.

I think the original wiper arm links will be ok to use.

Your suggestions please!

Thanks

There is no 2-speed wiper motor for the '60-'62 cars. There is the single-speed motor and the variable-speed motor. The single-speed motor is a 2-wire item. The variable-speed motor is a 4-wire item. It requires a different switch (which is very complex and can't easily be substituted, but can be found) and different linkage components.

The later motors will not come close to fitting. For one thing, there was nothing such as a 2-speed wiper motor until after the motor was moved to the other side of the firewall, a firewall (and wiper linkage) that was 100% completely different to anything like what you presently have; that is not a feasible swap by any stretch of the imagination.

Is there any 2 speed wiper motor I can fit to my 61 Valiant using the existing linkages?

I want to be able to swap the single speed motor without any changes other that the wiring.

Thanks

The answer remains the same (no) even when you ask the question in different words.
