It has a 225 engine with automatic transmission, my old carter has a crack in the body somewhere that my mechanic said is losing fuel sitting in his shop off the car. Has given trouble for quite a while. Or a good used carb that can be rebuilt. |

I checked Ebay, and looked for NOS (New Old Stock) carburetors (not rebuilt ones), they pop up now and then... I bought one (1972 Holley 1920 for a 1969 engine) and I was lucky, worked like a charm. In your case having a 1964 you might have different accelerator to carb linkage than mine, I don't know when they changed it. Another option: forum member SlantSixDan use to have NOS carbs for sale, send him a message. |

I got my Carter BBD from Carolina Carburetor Specialists in Wilmington, NC. Do a google search is you are interested. Butch runs this small shop and has been rebuilding carbs in this same building since the 1980s. He really knows his stuff. He will sell you a rebuilt one or will rebuild yours. He flow tests the carbs and sets them up. I installed mine and it ran as installed. I hooked up a vacuum gauge and was at max vacuum using his settings. Give butch a call if you are interested. He does business all over the country through advertising in Hemmings Motor News. Good Luck, Craig |
