Post subject:  MOOG K7040 or MOOG K7068 ?

I have a 67 Chrysler Valiant.
From what I can gather our Australian control arms and strut rods are the same as your US parts,
I have to replace my upper and lower control arm bushes so I thought I would do the strut rod bushes as well .
I looked on the Moog site and it says part number K7040 for my Val but I also did a search on this site and someone else said part number K7068.
Would either set fit ?
The K7068 have steel crush tubes , it doesn't look like the K7040 come with crush tubes.
Thanks in advance ,
Greg

I just looked up 67 Dodge Dart at Rock Auto, under "Suspension" Moog K 7040 strut rod bushing is listed with metal sleeve. I used these on my 67 Dart, replacing the dinky factory one piece bushing, and they work nicely. Also you will be able to achieve correct torque of nut when assembled.

Thanks for that.
That is where I had been looking but the photo doesn't show the steel tubes.

I just got my K 7040 bushes from Rock Auto .
They didn't have a metal crush tube which doesn't worry me .
They came with the cup looking washers in the above listing .
It says to install these with the cup facing outwards , if you know what i mean .
Is this what you did ?

Yes, definitely w/cup facing outward, as in the instructions.

Slant on,

I was a bit worried about the Moog bushes being too thick .
So i put the LCA and strut rod with the washer facing outwards back on .
I measured from the metal washer to the inside of the K frame on my VC Valiant .
Measurement is 20mm approx .
Moog bush is 20mm approx .
Sweet .
