| Post subject: | strange fuel pump vent |
I recently picked up a 1971 Dodge Dart with a 225 in it. Looking it over I found out it's not the original motor because I found a reman tag on it and warranty book in the glove box. the thing that has me puzzled is there is a hose that goes from the fuel bowl vent tube to a vent tube coming out of the base of the fuel pump just in front of where it mounts the block. Does anybody have some info on this and if I have to replace the pump do they still make it and if not where do I vent the fuel bowl? |

That's where the carburetor bowl vent tube connects in '71 (and '70 California) Slant-6 cars. Yes, you'll be able to get another pump for it if you need one, but better to convert to the '72-up charcoal can system. See here for full explanation. |
