| Post subject: | Random Stall? |
All, I have my D100 running now and I am working out the small bugs. Today I took it out for a drive and it stalled randomly. I was riding along at about 40 mph and it just sort of cut out. I pushed in the clutch and coasted to a side road to find a place to stop. When I stopped, I took a look under the hood and everything looked fine. I started it back up and it ran home just fine. It seemed to me like it lost spark briefly. I have the HEI mod. Does this make sense. Has this ever happened to you guys? If it is not spark related, any other ideas on what to check? Thanks, Craig |

Craig, Until it happens again, it will be hard to diagnose. Maybe an intermittent power wire to the HEI? Was the HEI hot when it happened? Carry a multimeter with you to check voltages or open circuit if/when it happens again. Best wishes, Lou |

| Post subject: | Missing Ground Wire?? |
Lou, Thanks for the response. I originally thought my issue was because I was not using the relay because my wiring was new. I recently added the relay and took it our for a drive and it died 100% - no spark at all. I towed it back home and went through the instructions again. I realized that I omitted the ground wire from the HEI module to ground. So I think that missing ground or the previous missing relay has killed my module. Which one do you guys think it is? So I just ordered two new ACDelco HEI modules and I plan to install them this weekend. I will use the relay this time and remember the ground wire. I will let you guys know what I find. Thanks, Craig |

Craig, I am not familiar with the details of HEI as I do not use that system. However, your logic sounds good and hopefully the next go round with the relay and grounds will work well. Lou |
