Hey guys, new to the site. I have a '65 A100 pickup and plan to swap from a 3 spd manual trans to an automatic. Currently the motor and trans are out of the truck and awaiting rebuild. I have found that the triangular brace from the block to the tranny just below the starter are different. When I picked up the auto trans, I failed to get the brace. Anyone know where a guy might get the correct one for the auto trans? I've been lurking here for a couple of weeks now and have found some very interesting topics, in particular, the one about the FItech injection. Very interested in this. I don't plan to pump the motor up any, but would definitely consider the FI. If not that, then I intend to do the Offy dual one bbl set-up, for the sole reason of the cool factor. I welcome and definitely encourage any suggestion and advice. I'm not new to restorations, but I am a bit of a newbie where the Slant Six is concerned. Thanks in advance for all comments. |

You can post your want ad in the "Parts Wanted" section, make sure to let people know where you are from (it saves on shipping if you can get it from someone more local...). Are you going to the A904 Auto or the A727 automatic? If you don't want to keep it, the manual brace you have is a desirable item for those swapping the other direction... Sounds like you have a good ride, and some definite goals, look forward to seeing progress on your truck! |

Tons of folks should have the auto trans brace. I am sure I have an extra, so PM me if you cannot find one locally. I have substantial travel coming up in the next 2 weeks, so PM me after Sept 25 if you want me to send one. Mine would be for the 904 trans (definitely) and I don't know if the 727 one is different or not. Best, Lou |
