Having the Weber 38DGES on my Volare's slant six has been fun, mostly, but I'm about to remove it and replace it with a good bbd. Reliability is my priority, and my exhaust manifold has the "heater box" capped off. Right now it runs fine, but cold weather makes her run badly.
So, I'm planning on swapping an exhaust manifold with a functional flapper/intake heat.
So a good Carter bbd on top of a factory super six manifold, and intake manifold heat.
I think I have everything covered. I have all new gaskets.

Okay, the bbd is installed on a factory super six intake.
I have a Dutra front exhaust manifold, and a modified exhaust manifold for the rear with the exhaust "flapper" working.
So now I'm looking forward to cooler weather.

However, I need to fab up some kind of bracket for the throttle cable and kickdown. What worked on the Weber carb don't quite hook up to my bbd.
Anybody have any pics of custom/home fabbed throttle bracketry?
Thanks!

I used a 90 degree shelf brace with the proper holes drilled to mount it on top of the carb flange, and held the throttle cable with a tiny u bolt. I nipped off the excess with a Dremel. After 7 years it has yet to flex. http://m.lowes.com/pd/Stanley-National- ... es/3168403

As for kick down, I have no idea. Mine is a 4 speed.

That would be cool.
And actually, I may have one. I have a few miscellaneous brackets, I'm just not sure which one is the one I need.
Some pics would be a huge help.

After a couple of trips to Ace Hardware, I'm on the road again. It looks a bit jerry-rigged, but it runs okay and shifts when its supposed to.
I would like to fabricate or modify something that looks less jerry-rigged in the near future though.
Hmm, gotta do some thinking...

Not at this time. I reinstalled the Weber, but on a different manifold.

Thanks Reed for those submitted pics and measurements. I would greatly appreciate if you can take the time to measure how long that lever are in the pic. And if you feel to take some others measurments on the throttle cable mount that would also help.

I want to make a "new" 2bbl kickdown linkage since the one I have now dont work perfect.
