Is the pipe plug on the right rear side of the block a water port or oil port? |

Block cleanout port to drain and clean out the water jacket around the cylinders. |

Ah.....ok. So not a good place to insert a temp gauge probe I guess? |

Temperature sending units are best placed in the cylinder head or near the outlet / coolant exit point so you can get a reading from the hottest running zones in the engine. Based on that... the thermostat cover is a good location for an aftermarket temp gauge. DD |

Do they sell thermostat housings with that already drilled out or is this a home brew sort of deal?Based on that... the thermostat cover is a good location for an aftermarket temp gauge. DD Is there enough room in the housing for the thermostat if the sensor is mounted in it like that?? I just looked at my housing and how the thermostat sits in it and it looks like there wouldnt be room. I guess I can always go this route https://www.summitracing.com/parts/atm-2281/overview/ |
