I all of the sudden cannot start my Dart. When I open the door the dome light turns on, battery has a full charge. When I turn the key literally nothing happens except the oil light turns on (it always does when you start this car). I do not hear the starter or anything from the ignition system. I am guessing bad ignition switch? If people agree with me, any ideas on how to get the ignition assy. out of the dash? Thanks! |

Ignition switch, starter relay, neutral safety switch, starter, wiring among these components, or battery/cable(s). The battery/cable test is easy: turn on the headlamps and watch them while you turn the key. Do they dim way down? If so, the problem is probably one or more faulty battery cables and/or severe corrosion of the battery cable terminals. If that's not it, diagnosis is here (I still have that one-and-only-one new '60-'64 neutral safety switch if you turn out to need it). |

Okay it was the terminal, thanks. Kind of kicking myself in the butt for how simple and standard the problem was. https://youtu.be/humHoQjAVtg |

Let's hear it for easy fixes. BUT, it's going to happen again. Those "two bolts and a strap across the top" battery cable terminals are meant as a short-term, get-by, emergency fix until a real repair can be made. |
