Post subject:  Oil spit holes on connecting rods

I have just picked up a 225 and took the oil pan off and noticed oil holes in rods are the wrong way it is a very giod running engine and looks ro be very recently rebuilt should i remive the head and put the rods in they way they are suposed to be ir just leave it. I unerstand the old aluminum engine had them in this way. Just was wondering if the cam would fail if i leave it. The engine will be used as a daily driver no hard use or rpm.
Thanks mike

Maybe backwards, maybe not. See here.

The enhine i have is a 1976 forged crank engine so by what that article says they would likely be in backwards. Do you think i should just leave it alone or do you think it would cause problems

What are your uses for the engine? Does it run well and not smoke or leak? Unless used under extreme conditions, I would probably leave it alone, since any disassembly will risk introducing new faults. If you have the time and inclination, however, then go for it.
