If you have a 1980 slant 6, could you please measure the length of your oil dipstick? I dont know if the length is the same for all slants or not?

Trying to determine if the one we have on our Volare is correct or not.......my son said that when he did the oil change he put in what the manual says as far as oil capacity and it wasnt reading right on the stick.

Lots of variable here, so I figure double checking the dipstick is the correct length would be the first step. If it is he was probably mistaken and we are good. Its a stock pan fare as we can tell..

Thanks all!

IIRC, the stick is about 9" longer than the tube. :D

That's a rather personal question I choose not to answer! I don't worry about stuff like that. If it works good, use it!

Thanks! We will take a measure.

The tube and dipstick LOOK correct...there is a part number on it I have to see if I can find online....maybe that will help us too....

Just to clarify for me- the dipstick portion IN THE TUBE is 9" longer than the tube, right? (Not "overall", including the handle I mean)

As long as you don't care about originality.... fill it up and just mark the backside with a screwdriver or engraver.
