Hi Everyone,
I have decided that I want to treat myself to a new Weber this Xmas.
I am really having a hard time deciding if I want a 32/36 or a 38/38.

My truck is mainly stock, with the exceptions of HEI and a 2.5 inch exhaust.

My truck is mainly a daily, 3.5 rear end and a NP145 granny gear.

My issue is the following,

Will a 32/36 be enough for a D150? how will it act if the truck is loaded?
Or, should I go with the 38/38.

As a daily driver I want the fuel economy, and even though I rarely load the truck, I still want it to function as a truck.

It would be nice to hear from truck owners and their experience with webers.

I've been runnin a 32/36 like 10 yrs. now and I couldn't be happier, even though It's still running just a little lean. This is in a 69 A100 van that's just a back up daily driver, stock motor, 727, 3:53 rear. I have put some weight in the back and it does OK, after all, it's a /6. Fuel economy is real good with it. Just do a search here as I know there's been plenty of chatter about them. Good Luck

I have read a lot of the posts. And many people talk about webers.
But most are in cars, very few are in in trucks.

I guess I am more interested in knowing how the 32/36 has performed in a loaded truck.

I currently have a holley 1945, single barrel, and it seems to be good enough. No issues, even under load.

I know a 38/38 would be a great carb.

I know a 32/36 would be a great mpg economy carb.

If I install a 32/36 in my truck, will it still be able carry a load?

I have the Weber 38DGES, but its in a car, my '78 Volare.
I know that another member, whose name I don't recall, has a Weber 32/36 in his '84 or '85 full size pickup, and he likes it.
I'm pretty sure that you could make either carb work, but I have limited knowledge of these carbs. Hopefully others will chime in.

I remember seeing someone's post a while back, I don't remember who, but he stated that he had used both of these carbs. He also said that while both are good carbs, he preferred and would recommend the 38DGES. He said it had better performance acceleration-wise, and that you could get good fuel economy if you drove it conservatively.
