No, you'll have a real fishing expedition for that one. Are you quite sure it's the diaphragm and not the thermostatic sensor or one of the vacuum lines?

I applied a vacuum pump to it per the FSM.....closes but doesnt stay open.....closes and then opens right fast. :(

Tried the one from the 1 bbl cleaner and that one doesnt even close at ALL.....th engine warmed up nice and fast and gradually came off of high idel fast , before, even with the 1bbl flapper not flapping.....now it doesn't come off of high idle itself.....so I guess the choke is our main culprit here....may be time to go electric choke as you had suggested....wanted to give the standard choike thermostat gizmo a chance since its new........grrrrrr...always something...LOL....car warms up fine but would be nice to have the "automatic-ness" it had before.....

Are the flapper diaphraghsm/units more or less universal within some range of years at least? Or are they all different based on application and year?

I am guessing that there is not some sage shop somewhere that can rebuild those sort of vacuum operated devices?

Yep, sounds like the diaphragm in your "vacuum motor" is dead. If you're very lucky, you might get a positive response calling SJ Denham on 530-926-4817 and asking for a Chrysler part № 4306391.

If not, quickest and easiest fix is probably to remove yours (drill the rivet, then lift out the riveted end and the opposite tab will come out of its slot as you unhook the lift rod from the flapper door). Bring it to your desk and compare it to these units and pick one that looks reasonably close enough to be adaptable. You may have to drill a new hole in the snorkel for a new rivet.

(The same supplier made most Ford and Chrysler air cleaners)
