I'm looking for a little advice on adjusting my kickdown linkage with my new FI system. Typically I would adjust my KD to engage just off throttle and be at the end of its throw at wide open throttle without completely bottoming out. With this custom set-up my throttle body throw is quite a bit shorter that that of the kickdown. As you can see in the photo (hopefully) my brackets are just roughed in and I haven't modified the KD slide yet. Oh, and I know that I need to lengthen my throttle cable mount. Any tips or advice on this adjustment would be appreciated.

You're gonna have to do some geometric tweaking so the throttle throw and the kickdown throw are coordinated, otherwise it'll never shift right for you. That may mean a shorter lever at the transmission end (to "compress"/shorten the kickdown lever throw) or it may mean moving the manifold-end attachment point of the kickdown further away from the throttle shaft axis to lengthen the throw of the kickdown cable, or it may mean ditching the cobbled-up links and seeing this thread for kickdown options.

I'd sure like to know more about your custom EFI setup! Maybe in a different thread.

I would ditch all parts of the factory kickdown and just go straight to a cable style kickdown.
