So I've been picking away at the '68 Valiant 100. This is a car that originally had a 170 in it and at some point long ago had a new or rebuilt 225 swapped in. SL6dan said it was a 1972 block based on the H225R stamping.
I noticed this evening that the water pump is a Chrysler unit with red paint still on it. The part # appears to be 4006555, 4006635 or something close to that. No date code that I can make out.
I had to replace the fuel pump and it also was on the engine when painted. It was a very old AC pump model 263S with possibly a date code beside it that read 2 small9small 72.
The distributor is also the original 2875202 date coded the 45th week of 1967. Too bad the original starter is gone though.
