i bought a 1982 d150 four speed with a 225 and a lean burn still on it and working. ive looked for any way to find out if the carb is computer controlled or not. im sure it is since it has a lean burn and no vacuum advance on the dizzy. anyway i need a rebuild kit for the carb and i cant find enough information about it to order it. it looks like it is a rebuilt carb that looks like a autolite c7385 which should be a holly 1945 but here again im lost as if it is the original carb or even computer controlled. any help would be great! also what should i expect for mpg out of this rig if everything is right? |

The easy way to tell if the carburetor is omputer controlled is to look at the float bowl. Are there two wires that actually go down into the float bowl? If so, then the carburetor is computer controlled. If the carb is computer controlled with is a Holley 6145,not a 1945. If you are seriously going to try and live with a lean-burn system, you really need to get the factory service manual for your year and model of vehicle. It has a full troubleshooting section that discusses how to diagnose and repair and maintain a lean-burn system. You want Standard Motor Product Carb Rebuild Kit No. 679B OR 1224A. If you think the carb might not be original, the only way we can help you is if you post clear pictures of the carburetor from various angles. |

That looks like the original carb and it looks like it might in OK rebuildable condition. However, you absolutely need to get a factory service manual to make sure the vacuum lines are all hooked up correctly. |

It could be either, or both. If you don't have the list number for your carb, then you will have to guess. I would start with the 1224A since it covers more models of the carb. If the gaskets all match the holes in the carb, then you are good. If not, then you nget to order another kit. |

4287044 9762 1 3105 these are the stamps on the bowl of the carb. and i t dosent look like it is a computer controlled carb from what i have seen. this looks like the one i have, http://www.carburetion.com/CarbNumber.asp?Number=R9762. |

Yes, you have a Holley 1945 carb, but there were many different versions of that design that used different interal caibrations and gaskets. The list number was stamped into a little aluminum tag that is missing from your carb. Without the list number it is impossible to know exactly what carb kit will fit your carb. You will just have to buy one and play the odds that the gaskets you get will fit your carb. |

The only other option is to lay his hands on the big blue 1982 Parts Manual for his truck and refer to the carburation section. With this part number 4287044, the book will list his Carb "R" number. |

From holley book. Two numbers,9762A and 9762-1A, Both used on 1981 Chrysler light duty trucks, with 225 engines and auto transmission and federal emissions. Some parts were different but carbs used the same gasket kit Holley renew 3-1266. Carter Zip kit 902-391. Look at those numbers real good. If that 2 is a 3 its different kit number. |

There is a hose on vacuum tee on number 6 intake run that goes to top of carb to power valve vacuum diaphragm. Test to see if it holds vacuum. If it does great, if not make sure diaphragm comes in that kit. Tsb says that vac line should go to port where choke pull off gets its vacuum by using a tee fitting. Cap off vacuum port on manifold no 6 runner. |
