Post subject: | Holley 1945 replacement parts |
Good day everybody! First off let me say I've received much knowledge from reading the posts on this forum. You guys have helped me immensely over the years. Most of the time I can get answers to my questions by searching but not this time. Ive owned a 1975 Dodge D100 since 2008. Then it was my daily driver but now drive it just occasionally. I've rebuilt the Holley 1945 twice before with satisfactory results. The one thing that always gets me is that accelerator pump cup. Ive torn these on previous rebuilds and had to purchase a whole kit just for this piece. Anyway, Walker offers individual parts on their website which is nice. In the case of the accelerator pump cup the have two part material offerings: Fluorelastomer and Buna. Is one material preferred over the other? Also, does anybody have any tips for reassembling the Holley 1945 without wrecking the accelerator pump cup? Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and experience. I hope you'll be seeing me back on the road in my old Dodge real soon! |

Fluoroelastomer is more resistant to a wider range of chemicals. |
