2017 Run for the Championship!!!

The 2017 Slant 6 Racing Season jumped off to a great start out in the corn fields of the Midwest the weekend of April 1st with Team Green Hot Shoe Rusty Heisten taking home all the marbles.

Second place in National points goes to none other than the founder, creator, publisher, editor and patriarch of the Slant 6 Racing News, Seymour Pederson!

There were a total of 10 racers competing in both 1/8 and 1/4 mile racing over the two days thanks to Team Green and new sponsor MAGOO Fabrication.

I am moving from Germany back to Kentucky this summer, so race reporting will likely be a little delayed from time to time. I will try to stay on top of things as best as I can. Slant on!!

Thanks Lou. For expectation management I've tried to guess on how delayed the reporting will be: Mason-Dixon 20-21 May - Flying back to KY 22-29 May (Updated by 25 May depending on my schedule - house hunting) Medford 3-4 June - Going on our last "European Vacation" 5-11 June (Updated by 13 June [unless I have some down time and decent WiFi]) Bristol and Woodburn 24-25 June - Flying back to KY for the move 27 June (Updated by 30 June I hope) Samoa 8-9 July - Going to a school in VA 9-28 July (Updated once I get settled, maybe 11 July) Knoxville and Woodburn 5-6 and 13 August - Going to AZ to see family, so depends on schedule - shouldn't be too late

My sincere apologies for not being able to get the points updated yet. Long sob story about internet access, Windows subscriptions,... yada yada yada... We are in the house now. I leave for my school in Virginia in the morning. I really do hope to get the championship points updated next week once I'm settled in and have some down time and halfway decent internet access. The class is three weeks long and yes, I have checked Mapquest to see that it is a 5 hour drive to Wilkesboro on 21 July... There are two dragstrips within 30 minutes or less of the house. Maybe I can convince Cookie to get his Little Red Piggy put together so we can finally do our Cookie versus Mater Grudge Race!! Be patient. I promise I'll get the points updated soon.

Hey Stan, I'm going to Fort Belvoir this time. If it were Eustis I would definitely reach out to Will. Hey Ron, I am going to try. It depends on how much homework I will have for this class and if I will be allowed to go that far during the school. I really want to make it if I can. I won't have a Slant 6 to race, but I'd love to do some bench racin'!

I have most of the points worked out for the Woodburn, Bristol and Samoa races. I just need to confirm things and I'll get the championship points updated. I'm in a fairly intense school for the next three weeks, but at least I have decent internet access and a computer that sorta works... I'm still hoping to make it to the Wilkesboro race on that Saturday. Then I can report on the race in person!
