I'm about to machine a custom aluminum flywheel for my CD009 transmission swap and I am including a 36-1 trigger wheel pattern on the back side. I'm trying to figure out if the bolt pattern on the crank nose is oriented to a specific TDC event so I can place the trigger in an orientation that I will know what numbers to punch into Megasquirt. It seems as though the keyway in the harmonic balancer side is pointing to cylinder 1 BDC, which also lines up with the bolt hole opposite of the offset hole. I've attached a picture of the bolt pattern that I will be machining.

Could some of you guys with a loose crankshaft laying around confirm that it matches on your crank as well?

Thanks,

Casey

I believe they all have the same orientation on the front (balancer) side. I am 5000 miles from my house, so I cannot check for a while...

I believe we have this figured out, with the help of Mr. Stokes. The bolt hole that is labeled BDC in the picture is actually TDC of #1 and it lines up with the keyway. I had my head on backwards when I looked at my crank. Too many late nights with a new baby. It was the same on 4 different crankshafts; a mix of cast, forged, and 198.
