It's been 9 months of use , about 60 miles of use per week . it's got some quirks but it keeps making money each week , she starts , easy on the fuel , Kinda slow so it's keeps me out of trouble . On the open road if I hit 70 I ease up . But I see hyw use they will go but it's over 30 years old so I settle down at 55 . What I like is it's a simple motor and not demanding It just run's - I love it - A great truck & motor combo . If I had a choice of 225 or 318 . The 225 all the way |

My first slant six had sat under a tree for 10 years, and with a carb rebuild and a new ignition box it saw daily use for 4 years, 76 mile commute, 5 days a week. That really impressed me. I've had one ever since. |

For cruising fun - i'd like a Chrysler Le baron slant 6 maybe i'll get lucky some day .

I have an '85 D100 slant 6 with A904 auto transmission that was handed down to me by my Grandad. Currently at 70k. Runs as good as any vehicle today. I manage 17-18 MPG with it. Can't beat them! |

Having a stick is real core with a slant six . You go through the gears like a champ , lots is going on then you look at the spedo and it says 45 mph . The 4th gear overdrive floats along on the HYW low RPM's , but some time's I wish I had an Auto tran's i'd just putt around like an annoying old man in " THAT PICKUP " . |
