FYI, I didn't like my homemade air box, so I modified one from a 2005 Grand Prix. See album here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/151192512 ... 091232880/ Brian |

Suspect your battery wandered off to the trunk? |

Yes, my battery is in the trunk. It's amazing how much room the battery and tray and support take up. My ad hoc cold air box pulled air from the top of the frame level, when driving the air was always cool, but in traffic the recirculating air in the engine bay got sucked up in there and it heated up. While I was doing this project, I also did Dan's recommended double fused/double wires between alternator and battery (to take the load off the ammeter). I feel safer now that 50 year old wiring is not surging with current in my dash. Happy to share more info on cold air box if anyone wants, PM me. b |

"double fused/double wires between alternator and battery " How does your 67 amp gauge read now (ie half of what it used to?)? I have parts but not installed yet for my 65. |

We should move to electrical thread, but to answer your question, the amp gauge doesn't read at all now. I'm going to switch to voltmeter. brian |
