My 1938 Plymouth has a 74 Duster 225/6-904 being installed in the chassis. Dues to chassis x member clearance issues, there is no room for the exhaust to go down the drivers side of the engine/transmission. I was considering running the exhaust under the oil pan with a way to "split" (take apart) it if there was a need to remove the pan. Any ideas for heat wrap, heat shields, connections, and clearance distance needed. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. |

Welcome to the site. Sounds like a super cool project. I believe Aspens/Volares had this format on Slants, under the back of the sump and to the pass side. I would keep it 0.5" away from the oil pan and use thermotec heat wrap tape (attached w/hose clamps or stainless zip ties/clamps) in the area of the oilpan. I have had one tube of a header bump/rest against the driver side of the oilpan at one point and had no ill effects. Happy building, Lou |

On the F bodies the exhaaust crosses under the trans for slant 6 models - after the bellhousing but before the auto trans Pan - I have no Stock slant 6 F bodies anymore, but I think that is where it crossed over. Greg |

I would definitely look at the F body crossover pipe. You might find a stock pipe that fits. That's good as they are larger than earlier setups. |

You can't tell by the diagram, but the F body slant exhaust does cross over to the passenger side. Basically goes under the oil pan in front of the trans. That is how my Volare wagon was. |

That routing is correct. I still have the stock super six "header" from the 78 Aspen and it's 2 1/4" for that pipe...I use this same header configuration as the rear on my dutra duals if doing true dual pipes. |
