Post subject: | wiper linkage bushing installation |
I found the correct bushings with the Help section at pep boys. Glad I was able to find them. Anyone have a good way to press them into the holes in the end of the linkage bar? I tried my bench vise but it only distorted the plastic. I was planning on trying a bearing drift and hammer next. Once they are in I am assuming you just press the bar onto the wiper pivot ends and they fit up right nice Any advice is appreciated Dr Wheelie |

Warming them up with a blow-dryer or heat gun will help. ![]() |

I got some of those bushing from my local Chryco dealer. Those come half filled with some grease in the holes. Price was about the same as the parts store bushings. The factory ones are a bit more "rubbery" and my go in easier. It's been a few years and I don't remember how I got them in. I had some after market bushings and they were a stiffer hard plastic-like material. I think the softer OEM ones went in pretty easy. |

Warm them up a bit, then press together with a set of 'pump' pliers it's easier... good luck on installation...you're almost done! -D.Idiot |
