I've been offered a free sway bar from a '71 340 Duster. Is there any feasible way to adapt one of these onto a '64 A-body? I imagine it'll be significantly wider but don't know how much. |

I have one from a '71 Valiant that I will use on my '63 Dart at some point. Probably have to bend the ends a bit. |

Newer one should be 2" wider, but otherwise should be the same. I have never tried this, but I suppose it should work with the right LCA mounts, or heating/bending the bars in a bit. Your turning radius will increase because the tires will hit the bar on hard steering. Lou |

What is the question? The tires will run into the bar when you are parking or at slow speed going toward full lock on the steering, that is unless maybe if you are using skinny stock tires. On my stock Addco bar on the 68 Dart with 215 width tires, I used to just rub the bar with the tires before the steering hit the lock. With a wider bar, I am pretty confident you will hit earlier. Lou, so wouldn't the turning radius decrease, not Quote: increase ???

The turning radius of the car would increase, because if you can't go full lock then you can't steer quite as tight a circle. Thanks for the info, folks. I guess I'll pick it up and see how it looks. |

increase the radius by decreasing the amount you can turn! I say get the sway bar, sell it and buy the correct one! |

I say lay it in the corner and go drag racing! No need for a turning radius going in a straight line! ![]() ![]() |
