| Post subject: | 1975 Duster transmission; is it supposed to have a mount? |
Just got done taking the engine out of my 1975 duster, and my dad and I noticed that the transmission isn't really mounted to anything but the engine. Is this correct, or is it supposed to be bolted to something that isn't there? |

There should be a cross member, between the torsion bar anchors. A rubber mount on top of the cross member, to the bottom of the transmission tail shaft housing. |

This is a late A-body so the mount is as Charlie says, but it has a rubber cylinder behind the crossmount with asingle bolt through it (called a spool mount similar to the way your motor mounts work), Here is a picture https://www.rockauto.com/info/60/A2512_01__ra_p.jpg |
