Does anyone know what the torque spec for re-installing my flywheel onto the crank of my 76 slant? Also, should I use new hardware to bolt it on? Kind of remember reading somewhere about using new bolts but not real sure. Thanks |

Flywheel to crankshaft is 55 ft lbs, and unless you are doing high rpm clutch dumps you can reuse your old bolts... If you intend to do some heavy clutch dumps or worry about the bolts backing out put a dab of loctite on them before installing then torque. If you need new bolts ARP makes a set (torque spec will be in the instructions for those bolts...and you will need a 12 point socket to install them...) Note that the clutch cover bolts for the 9 1/4"-10" clutch are different than the 11" clutch cover bolts, so your originals cannot be reused in that application...(ARP does make a set of these bolts and crosses to the early Ford Mustang). Good Luck. |
