Hey, would someone please take an old A-100 van and mate two slant sixes end to end in the middle of the van, add 6X2V Webbers and twelve zoomies out from under the the driver's side rocker so I can see how cool it is? I don't have time to do it myself

Try balancing that rotating assembly, that'd be fun. It'd be interesting to see how anyone would weld the cranks together just right.

Tie the engines together with a torque converter and synchronize the rpms with a computer.

Use some type of coupler between the two engines and set the rotating assemblys so that the balance is correct and put it in a a-100 pickup so half the engine is in the cab and half is in the bed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!This would be way too coooolllll!!!!!!!!!!!

Certainly not impossible. A /12 could pull a small to medium sized RV I would bet.

I think it was in Hot Rod magazine - two 350 ci. chevy's bolted end to end. A machinist I think, milled the front off one and the back off the other. welded the cranks and cams together too. One distributer and BIG headers. He ended up putting it into like a 32 ford body with a very long front end. it was pretty cool, so it can be done.

You don't need a /12 for an RV... I don't recall off the top of my head but /6's were put in RV's, stock. I think a guy posted on here had a /6 RV.

Well, for any of you who choose to accept this mission, I dont think any welding of cranks or blocks or computers will be required. I'm thinking two stand-alone /6's end to end, and fabricate some kind of coupler between the cranks. Think this will set up some interesting harmonics? I guess it could. Any tractor pullers out there??? This kinda stuff should be a cake-walk for them!

Check out the tractor pull technology - they often use multiple V8's and assorted aircraft engines, linked side-by-side, end to end, perpendicular or parallel to the driveline ... They may have some techniques for synchronizing the engines that would be usable with slants.

It is possible. In the '60's, GMC used 2 of their 305 cid V6's to make a 610 cid V12 for heavy trucks. Talk about a torque monster!

Another idea to throw out there... I was thinkin, I have another /6 doin nothing, and have some 2x2 metal... I wonder how a /6 would do in a gocart

The next project I'm thinking about doing when finances permit is a 'Locost'. Do search on the web, they are clones of the Lotus 7, there's a book that gives the 'diagrams' and you can figure out where to get the hardware and jig it up. The stock bathtub needs to be lengthened about 8 inches, but a hi-po slant six in a 1500# street legal 2 seated British Roadster would make for a fun road rocket....

Seriously, that sounds sorta cool. I've always said that the /6 Duster I built (see racing Q&A post for specs) feels more like a lively sports car out on the road than a "musclecar". Build an aluminum /6 for the Locust!
