| Post subject: | Missing linkage clip? |
Hello, Recently while replacing intake/exhaust manifold gasket, while reassembling the kick down linkage, I noticed there appears to be a missing clip. This is the arm (bellcrank?) that attaches to the kickdown rod. There appears to be a missing clip or something else that keeps the rod in place. I do not believe there was anything in place during disassembly. Any ideas, or possible picture. I could not find an illustration although all I have is the Chilton shop manual . Thankyou |

Hello, I searched illustrated views of the linkage assembly , but zooming in to blurry pictures was unable to determine what exactly the clip, or correct component looks like . What I did is what I should've done five or six years ago I went on eBay and I purchased a correct shop manual which probably should arrive shortly . I still am left wondering how for so many years this car has run and drive as well as it has with no transmission issues . |

It would help considerably if you could post a picture of the rod with the missing clip. It is likely one of these., I don't know the proper name for it. Dorman # 41016 is an assortment. http://i.ebayimg.com/images/i/161179956 ... -l1000.jpg You can find these at most hardware or auto part stores. |
