I just looked at the map and there aren't any hotels near the strip. There are some not too far away in Lexington. Is anyone planning on Camping at the track?

I will probably camp at the track unless its too loud. Also have stayed at mt. Sterling before.. by I 64 and winchester is probably the same. Lexington is a but farther for me.

Mike,

There is open camping at the track. No showers, but pretty nice bathrooms. I usually camp, but sometimes stay in Winchester too. That is the nearest place with larger hotels, and there are several (20 min, IIRC).

Looking forward to it,

Lou

I am going to try and camp at the track. I haven't had the time to make it out to Mountain Park Dragway yet (2+ hour drive) to talk to them in person.

Here is the link to the list of lodging places they recommend on their website with distances from the track and phone numbers.

If I can get out there and do a good recon of the lodging options and set up a group rate somewhere I'll post here and in the Clay City thread.

I also have a reservation at Abners,
I have stayed there before, quaint little drive up motel,, the rooms are clean
and inexpensive.
