Post subject: | Commonly available pulley dimensions?? |
Hi folks, Anyone know if SB chevy or SB Ford or SB or BB Mopar have pulley dimensions (pilot hole, bolt circle, depth) that will fit the Slant water pump? I am having a devil of a time finding accurate/sensible dimensions posted online. Thanks! Lou |

Quote: SB or BB Mopar have pulley dimensions
I have a few of these from years back from my old demo derby cars that had 318, 383, or 400's and they will fit the slant pump, but the "depth" is notthe same and don't line up with the alt pulley so well...some also have 2 grooves in lieu of just one. Data on stock pulleys is hard since there are loads of variations year to year and options... Also as a note... I seem to remember that slanters used to use big block SFi dampers back when they didn't make them for the slant. If in a pinch for a junk yard damper you could probably use one off a neutral balance big block (all 361, 383, Pre-1969 440)...but not 70's 400's or 440's or 440 six pack... Best of luck to you, the waiting is the worst and not knowing what specifically is available or when it may arrive. |

Thanks for the info and well wishes, DI. All is OK here. Sandy confirmed that the SBC pulley I ordered from Summit is almost identical to the Slant 6 pulley. For "short water pump, 69-85 SBC". Yep, fingers crossed on the parts arrival and correctness... Sorry I did not have time to stop and say hello to you on this recent trip. It just got too packed with people to see and I needed to hit the road east... Hope all is going OK for you and yours. Lou |
