Long time no chat,
I go out to check things and fire up the van and find the gaskets on the carb leaking again! It is about time for me to get rid of this POS 500 Holly.
What carburetor that I can get off of eBay that will bolt into this 500 Holly's place and be easy for me to deal with? I have no idea what would be a good one and at this point I definitely need something better than what's on here. I've been driving this thing now for how long and it still doesn't run that well. There's no choke on this one so buying a carburetor with a choke on it might be a new thing for me! LOL
I appreciate any suggestions as I'm sitting 23 miles from the nearest town and being able to purchase something on eBay and have it shipped here makes life a little easier.
Thanks,
Dan

The Motorcraft 2100 is a direct bolt on if you have a Holley 350 cfm or 500 cfm two barrel. I had one on my D-100 about 10 years ago. Very simple carburetor.

Do you know which one I should get? They show models that fit certain motors and I have no idea which one to look at??
Thanks for the help...

Yes, I would definitely unload the old one...

The best one has "1.08" stamped inside a circle on the side. I used a 1.21 successfully, but it was jetted a tad rich. The 1.08 carbs were used by many Jeepers to get rid of the Carter BBD, because they perform better at angles than the BBD.

Make SURE you get one that has vacuum advance. I had a perfectly good NOS Motorcraft for a 260 that did not.
