Hello all! I have been having a problem recently with my truck. I live in a small community where my commute to work every day is about 15 mins each way (nothing over 60mph typically). Each morning when I take off from home my truck starts right up normally and I have no issues whatsoever. Anyways, to make a long story short my truck sometimes stumbles when I slow down to a stop or to make a turn. Inconveniently sometimes it’s at stoplights. ![]() |

are you still using the Lean Burn distributor and ECU ? not saying that is the exact problem, but drivability gets better with a HEI conversion. |

The distributor doesn’t have points and it’s the stock computer and distributor (distributor pulled out of another’s truck at the junkyard, matching numbers). |

Some possibilities: Choke staying on too long. Float level too high. Needle valve faulty. |

the electronic distributors are fairly robust, the Lean Burn computers and its system of vacuum controls is not. just saying, moving to HEI ignition and a electronic distributor with a vacuum can would be a good move, directionally. |
